"What Music Means to Me" Essay Contest
Wednesday, 15 October 2008VH1 Save The Music Foundation is partnering with the Big Apple Circus on an essay contest asking "what music means to me." New York City music students who's school has received a VH1 Save The Music Foundation grant of instruments were invited to submit an essay of 300-500 words on the topic and more than 150 young musicians replied. The grand prize winner and her classmates were invited to attend the Big Apple Circus' all-new show "Play On!". Click to read the winning essays.
Wilkinsburg, PA – Vh1 Save The Music Celebration Event
Friday, 10 October 2008The VH1 Save The Music Foundation with the help of Houlihan’s Restaurants Inc. and Comcast presented $90,000 worth of new musical instruments to restore instrumental music education programs at three Wilkinsburg Public Schools for the 2008/2009 school year. To mark the donation an event was held at Kelly Elementary School where students opened their new instruments for the first time and shared a demonstration lesson with their parents
ST. LOUIS, MO – VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC CELEBRATION EVENT
Thursday, 18 September 2008The VH1 Save The Music Foundation with the help of Charter Communications and Houlihan’s Restaurants Inc., presented $600,000 worth of new musical instruments to restore instrumental music education programs at 20 St. Louis Public Schools for the 2008/2009 school year. To mark the donation an event was held at the Patrick Henry Downtown Academy where a demonstration lesson in the school’s new keyboard lab took place.
