"As we head back to the big game for the fifth year, we wanted to do more as an organization to contribute to our community and drive our mission of confidence," said Mitch Golub, president of Cars.com. "We are launching Cars Cares as a way to give back, and fuel initiatives that matter to our brand, employees, site users and advertising partners - including dealers and automotive manufacturers."
The maximum $100,000 donation will be given to the charity which receives the most votes on the Cars.com Facebook page between January 26 and February 13. Eligible organizations were selected for the work they do to drive confidence in kids. "Each organization has a unique focus on educating youth and providing programs and services that drive self-esteem, positive decision making and healthy behaviors," said Golub. "It was important to us to identify organizations whose culture and values match our own and to give our community a voice in deciding which organization should be the recipient of our first Cars Cares donation."

Inspired by her mischievous cat and her professional background, speech pathologist Tracey Delio has developed a series of children books, The Secret Adventures of Louie V. The tales of her Siamese cat’s escapades are designed as a way to foster creativity and assist with overall reading comprehension for young readers. As a strong supporter of the growth and development of children, Delio partners with several charities (donating a portion of book proceeds) including VH1 Save The Music to host events that combine both reading and music in an enjoyable manner for kids and families alike.
These unique “Rock and Read” events showcase imagination and creativity in the form of books and music combined. The event is comprised of an interactive book reading which showcases how authors come up with ideas. It also encourages children to tap into their own imaginations to generate new creative stories. The event continues with the musical stylings of talented musicians who share their creative writing talents in the form of song! This event includes prizes and giveaways for the children.
