New York, NY (February 2010)—The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is thrilled to kick-off 2010 with a series of partnerships geared towards achieving the Foundation’s goal of ensuring that no child be deprived of the opportunity to participate in music education programs. With the help of The Denver Foundation, The Brown Foundation of Houston, Inc., The Vera and Imre Hecht Foundation and The Beethoven Fund the VH1 Save The Music Foundation is one step closer to achieving that goal.

A staunch supporter of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation since 2000, The Denver Foundation recently donated $22,000 to support instrumental restoration in public elementary and middle schools in Denver. Additionally, the Brown Foundation of Houston, Inc., made a grant of $50,000 to support restoration in the Houston Independent School District. Both organizations have displayed their commitment to the goals of VH1 Save The Music Foundation and the Foundation is proud to have their support.

Since 2006, The Vera and Imre Hecht Foundation has been a dedicated supporter of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, donating over $160,000 to help restore instrumental music education programs in five New York City public elementary and middle schools. Building off their ongoing commitment to arts education, The Vera and Imre Hecht Foundation recently donated an additional $60,000 to VH1 Save The Music, to help jumpstart instrumental music education programs in two more New York City public schools in the next academic year.

Finally, the Beethoven Fund, which is dedicated to helping children find their voice through music, will launch their 2010 World Tour of Beethoven’s rediscovered Overture to MacBeth and the Andante from the Oboe Concertofeaturing members of the NY Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony, Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Saint Petersburg Philharmonic and other world famous orchestras. Proceeds from this star studded world tour go to support the VH1 Save The Music Foundation in their efforts to restore instrumental music programs in America’s public schools.

“We are thrilled that these great foundations and organizations have partnered with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation,” said Executive Director of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation Paul Cothran. “With their help, we will be able to continue to raise awareness about the importance of a musical education in a child’s life, and ensure that additional children have access to the benefits of music study.”
